Ways To Give

Student Investment Club

The Student Investment Club is a student-led investment program of the Santa Monica Education Foundation at Santa Monica High School. Club members meet regularly to research opportunities, present their findings, and make real portfolio management decisions, all under institutional-grade governance guided by an Investment Policy Statement approved by the SMEF Investment Committee.

What makes this program unique is its purpose. Investment returns flow directly to the SMEF Endowments, creating sustainable funding for the programs that serve students across every Santa Monica public school. Students aren’t just learning to invest. They are investing in their community.

The Student Investment Club is the first program of its kind in Santa Monica public schools, and one of the few in the country where students manage real capital in live markets for a philanthropic purpose.
