Student Investment Club
The Samohi Investment Club is a student-led investment program operating under the umbrella of the Santa Monica Education Foundation. The Club brings together Santa Monica students committed to learning the principles of investing, capital markets, and financial stewardship through the active management of a real portfolio supporting the Athletics and Arts Endowments.
We invite parents, alumni, and community members to help us grow the Club’s portfolio and, with it, the endowments that sustain Santa Monica’s athletics and arts programs.
Important Disclosures
DONATIONS MADE TO THE SAMOHI INVESTMENT CLUB ARE GIFTS TO THE SANTA MONICA EDUCATION FOUNDATION, HOWEVER THE PORTFOLIO MAY HAVE MATERIALLY HIGHER RISK AND VOLATILITY THAN THE BROADER ED FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO. DONATIONS ARE INVESTED IN SECURITIES AND FUNDS SELECTED BY STUDENT CLUB MEMBERS, PURSUANT TO AN INVESTMENT POLICY STATEMENT APPROVED BY THE INVESTMENT COMMITTEE. ALL TRADES ARE REVIEWED AND EXECUTED BY A DESIGNATED ADULT FOR COMPLIANCE PURPOSES ONLY, THE CLUB MEMBERS HAVE FINAL INVESTMENT DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY.
